We already know that a great hairstyle can make or break you, but did you know that your bangs can do the same thing? Having the right bang for your face can make all the difference in the world when it comes to a great hairstyle. They can hide an imperfect flaw or they can emphasis it. Now that we have your attention, what’s your perfect bang?
Although there have been times that bangs have been un-favored in the fashion world, they have actually been around for ages. While many celebrities and models prefer to go with what’s in and what’s out, there are some of us who just simply prefer bangs all year around.
Round face shapes – Soft layers or feathered bangs that frame the cheeks will help to minimize the roundness. Go for an angled bang, which can soften cheeks. Angled bangs can range from just a few long strands to a variety of hairs at different lengths. Oval face shapes – If you have an oval face shape, you can wear just about any bang you choose. Instead, you may want to use the bangs focus on drawing attention toward or away from a specific facial feature such as your eyes. A super short baby bang would be a great way to show off those eyes.
Long face shapes – For a long face shape, a blunt bang that are very close to the brow will be beneficial. You can add long layers to the bang to soften your face’s shape. A side swept bang is another great option for long face shapes since they can play down the length.
Square face shapes – A bang that gently curves or tapers toward the jaw can soften a square face’s sharp features. Square Face shapes can also benefit from a side swept bang to help soften features.
Heart face shapes – A Long or short blunt bang that is cut straight across can be beneficial to a heart-shaped face. Another option is an angled bang to help slim the cheeks and give the face an overall softness.
Triangular face shapes – If you have a triangular face shape, a wider bang that is feathered can add balance to your face shape. Slightly wispy bangs can be beneficial as well by giving the illusion of a slimmer chin.
A few other bang ideas to keep in mind when working with facial features are:
The Highlighted Bang – If you have dark hair, a highlighted bang is an excellent way to draw attention to specific features like the eyes or a great pair of lips. Adding highlights to fine hair can be beneficial by adding volume to the hair.
Choppy Bangs – Are a modified version of the blunt bang. They are cut and then texturized to give them their choppy look. They can give facial features a distinctive look.
With the above ideas, your stylist can guide you to the perfect bang for your facial shape or feature. She or he may even be able to offer new twists to the above bang ideas! Happy Styling!
