Trendy Headbands

If you pay any attention to what Hollywood is wearing these days, it appears that the headband is making a stylish comeback this year. Seen on stars like Jennifer Garner and Madonna, the headband is becoming the summer “must have” of the season. You can choose from wide or narrow bands in a variety of colors and materials to coordinate with every ensemble in your closet. Try out some of the new ribbon headbands that come in every rainbow hue, or a wide fabric band in one of the season’s hottest patterns. When selecting your headbands, make sure that they have a means to stay put, such as tiny teeth around the edge or a rubber lining that will effectively grip your hair. Hair sticks are another retro hair accessory that is seeing plenty of play time this summer. You can find these sticks in the long chopstick style or a shorter version that is popular for adorning the glam upsweep for evening. Many are embellished with beautiful beads and jewels that make them perfect for evening wear. Combs can also come as elegant as you like, and have been seen on stars like Charlize Theron to accessorize an elegant look as well. There is something classic and beautiful about an ornate comb peeking out of a bun or French twist. Ooh, la la!

You are seeing it on everything from the glamorous combs and sticks to simple alligator clips and bobby pins. You can even find ponytail holders fit for an evening on the town. You can find clips adorned with beaded patterns in every color imaginable, allowing you to give an extra sparkle to your do on those special occasion evenings. One of the ornate clips makes the perfect finishing touch on a sleek style swept to the side of the face, and can be the perfect solution to keeping those unruly bangs at bay. You can also indulge in one large, ornate barrette to hold your tresses securely at the nape of your neck for an elegant low ponytail, or wrap a chignon with a fancy ponytail holder for some additional dazzle.
