Get The Green Out: Tips For Removing Green From Your HairWhether it’s from swimming pools or a bad dye job, green hair is disastrous. But never fear! There are solutions. Some will surprise you, but all have been proven to work. As with anything you put on your hair or skin, test it on a small section first… information you should have had before you got the green hair!

 

Baking soda - Baking soda mixed with regular shampoo makes a paste that can remove green hair stains. Apply the paste liberally and let it on for five minutes. Rinse with cold water. This comment has been flagged.

Remove chlorine/gold copper/green with a product called EC mode demineralizing solution. You can get it from a good stylist or even on eBay.

 

Try the aspirin and white vinegar trick. This comment has been flagged. Rinse your hair in this mixture and remember to condition well after.

 

Alka seltzer tablets. That’s right – aspirin, soduim bicarbonate and citric acid work well to remove green stains. Dissolve two alka seltzer tablets in two inches of water (use more for hair longer than shoulder length or for thick hair) and add a good squirt of baby shampoo. Apply a generous amount and work into the hair from scalp to ends. Let it sit on your hair for exactly five timed minutes. Then wash and condition.

 

To help prevent chlorine damage to hair, before getting into chlorinated water, comb cocoa butter cream through your hair from root to tip. This creates a sexy wet look that protects hair from soaking up the damaging chlorine. After swimming, rinse hair and repeat process, wait 30 minuets then shampoo.

 

Other tricks that help prevent chlorine damage are to simply wet your hair before getting in the pool or to condition your hair and leave the product in while you swim. This comment has been flagged.

 

Hey Kool Aid! That’s right, try adding one pack of powdered lemonade with a small amount of your shampoo. Or take a handful of the powdered mix and rub it into damp hair. Work into hair well until it has dissolved. Shampoo and rinse well. Repeat and condition well.

 

Mix five tablespoons of baking soda with 2/3 cup of water.until smooth. Pour into conditioner bottle and shake. Shampoo your hair, rinse and apply mix. Leave in the conditioner mix for about 10 minutes and rinse.

 

Apple Cider Vinegar can remove chlorine from hair. Rinse medium length hair with about 8 oz of apple cider vinegar.

 

Add a small amount of ketchup or tomato paste to your shampoo and wash your hair. For tougher green stains, add the tomato paste directly to your hair. Cover hair with a shower cap and allow hair to absorb the paste for eight to ten minutes. Avoid contact with your eyes.
