The Latest Trends In Hair Styles And the One That Works For YouWhether your taste is long, flowing locks, or short and spunky, there`s lots of hair style trends out there to choose from - enough for everyone to have their own! Still, there may be a certain celebrity you`d like to fashion your hair style after. Whatever your hair type or personal taste may be, we`ll share with you some tips for choosing a style that will compliment your individual face shape and leave you looking great!

First Things First: Determine the Dynamics of Your Face

We all have unique dynamic to our facial structure - high cheekbones, pouty lips, small-set eyes, chiseled chins - we`re all beautifully unique. The secret to choosing the hair style that looks best on you is educating yourself on how to use the shape of your face to serve as a guide for having a great style. How do you determine your face shape? Although we all have highly individual characteristics, facial shape can be summed up into four different categories.

It`s Hip To Be Square

Square faces are characterized by strong, chiseled, and boxy jaw, and a wide forehead. Hair style experts recommend playing off these strong features with softness. Soft and wispy layers, especially around the face add some elegance and femininity to the pronounced features of a square face.

The Heart Shape

Heart shaped faces are characterized by wide foreheads set off by a narrowing lower face and pointed chin. Here, experts recommend keeping it simple around the fullness of the forehead by keeping bangs small and wispy. You`ll want to play up the area of the lower face around the chin by adding fullness through curls that fall around the chin. A bob looks great on the heart-shaped face because it frames the chin area, drawing attention away from the wideness of the forehead.

What About Round?

This facial shape is pretty much self-explanatory - A full forehead, rounded jaw and chin that gradually meet into a well-proportioned circle. Hair experts warn against creating too much business around the circumference of the head and the ears because this can add to the fullness of the face. Soft curls and layers that fall softly around the face are a great look for this shape.

The Triangle

Again, self-explanatory. The fullness of your face is in the jaw line and the cheeks but the forehead is small and narrow. Be careful of not making to much of a to-do with the bangs and hair on top of the head, but rather focus your styling efforts to frame the face as a whole. This will avoid adding height to the triangular-shaped face.

No matter what you`re shape, spend some time with your stylist exploring different possibilities that might be a match for your face. A good stylist will know the rules of matching facial shape with the proper cut.
