Burberry Perfume

Burberry Perfume was introduced in 1981, when the classic British clothing line which was renowned for their trench coats and Burberry plaid pattern came out with an original men's fragrance called Burberry Men. In the late 1990's and early 2000's Burberry revamped their design aesthetic and experienced a resurgence of chic, and as a result came out with several new versions of Burberry perfume to capitalize on their newfound popularity.

The most popular fragrance family in the Burberry perfume line is Burberry Brit, which also comes in the variations Burberry Brit for Men, Burberry Brit Red, Burberry Brit Gold, and Burberry Brit Sheer.

Burberry Brit for Women was introduced in 2003 and comes in a signature checked bottle. It is a fruity/green/oriental scent intended for daily wear. Its notes include lime, pear, peony, sugared almond, amber, vanilla and tonka bean, and it is often described as smelling like butterscotch. Burberry Brit for woman also comes in a body lotion version that's perfect for fragrance layering. For the 150% anniversary of the design house, Burberry has introduced a limited "Anniversary Edition" of this fragrance in an etched Baccarat crystal bottle.

Burberry Brit for Men comes in a black version of the checked bottle and is also a fresh/green/oriental blend. It is intended for daily wear for the modern man, is spicier and less sweet than the woman's version, and contains notes of bergamot, green mandarin, and ginger accord.

Burberry Brit Red is a special edition version of Burberry Brit with notes of green mandarin, rhubarb, gingerbread, jasmine, rose, vanilla, patchouli, benzoin, and sandalwood. Burberry Brit Gold is also a special edition eau de parfum and has notes of magnolia, neroli, cassis, bergamot, pink orris, amber, musk, vanilla and sandalwood.

Burberry Brit Sheer is a lighter, summery version of Brit with notes of mandarin, lychee, yuzu, grapes, peach blossom and white musk.

Burberry perfume also includes Burberry Touch, Burberry Weekend, Burberry London, Burberry Summer, and Burberry the Beat.

Burberry Touch comes in men's and women's eau de toilette versions. The man's version has notes of mandarin, violet, vetiver, oak moss, and tonka bean. The woman's version is a spicy floral with notes of jasmine, rose, tuberose, cedar and vanilla.

Burberry Weekend for Men has notes of bergamot, citrus, ivy, honey, oak moss, and sandalwood. The female version has blue hyacinth, citrus, green sap, iris, red cyclamen, rose, cedar wood, and musk.

Burberry London's men's scent has notes of bergamot, black pepper, cinnamon, guaiac wood, lavender, leather, mimosa, port wine, oak moss, opoponax and tobacco. The woman's perfume has notes of clementine, honeysuckle, jasmine, musk, peony, patchouli, rose, sandalwood and tiare.

Burberry Summer for Men contains notes of cedar, citrus, mint, pineapple, thyme, tonka bean and white musk. Burberry Summer for Women has citrus top notes, apple heart notes and a base of vanilla, white musk, woods and moss.

Burberry The Beat is an upcoming Burberry perfume which will be introduced in March 2008. It is a sparkling floral with notes of Ceylon tea, bergamot, iris, bluebell, cardamom, mandarin, pink pepper, vetiver, white musk and cedar.
