Anti-aging with a wave of a wand, and on a budget PDF Print E-mail
A Beverly Hills plastic surgeon says he is targeting the mass market with an inexpensive anti-aging treatment packaged in a unique dispensing system that resembles a wand.
The Timelapse Wand, developed by Dr. George Semel, is being marketed as an alternative to more expensive Botox and other filler injections as well as high-end anti-aging creams.

Dr. Semel skin care products have been around since 1995, and, until the launch of the Timelapse Wand, have generally been aimed towards the high-end of the market.
Wand is being marketed at men and women

The product is said to diminish the appearance of forehead creases, crow's feet, under-eye bags, as well as laughter and lip lines, and is being marketed at both men and women.

But in addition to its anti-aging claims, Dr. Sernel says that one of the biggest selling points should prove to be its price, which he says will be even more appealing in view of the fact that many US households are currently tightening their belts.

Comparing the Timelapse Wand to many products on the market that cost around the $100 mark, Dr. Sernel claims that with its $25 price tag, the product should prove 'affordable for most budgets'.

Lower retail price could spell success

Only today the International Moneteary Fund (IMF) released a report predicting that the US economy will go into a mild recession this year as the current credit crunch bites hard on the economy.

But the gloomy predictions for the economy might spell good news for products such as the Timelapse Wand, which are focused on consumers with lower spending power.

Likewise, the product's packaging has also been designed to make it stand out. It has also been designed to be functional as it can easily applied or used to 'touch up' for users on-the-go.

The product also concentrates on the trend towards natural ingredients, using hydrolyzed wheat protein, vitamin C and bamboo extract, together with peptides and dipalmitoyl hydroxyproline aimed at stimulating collagen and elastin production.
