Silicon breast implant patients have to undergo magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) every two years to detect leakage or rupture as per FDA guidelines. However, MRI technique is not foolproof and, at times, leaky implants might be missed. Now, Canadian researchers are trying to develop a cheap and easy blood test to detect leaky implants. Researchers from The University of British Columbia have designed a fast method to detect leakage events.
