The UK Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has once again taken another company to task for making unproven statements regarding one of its products. An ad on Zee TV for Neetas Herbal, claimed the herbal product was the ‘solution to all your hair problems.’ The ASA felt that the company, Neetas Hair Products had failed to prove that the product could deal with hair issues like bald spots and alopecia.

According to reports online, the ASA also felt that Neetas Hair Products also made statements regarding the curative properties of the product which were unsubstantiated. Evidence put forward by the company to support its claims was rejected by the body. The ASA decided that the ads must be withdrawn, and that any further advertising must be supported by adequate evidence to back up its claims. The ASA is an independent body set up to ensure that companies adhere to the advertising codes.
