While cancer research has long been supported by the corporate world, it is not often that cancer patients are singled out for attention. Now pharmaceutical company, Sanofi-aventis hopes to change that with the opening of a new boutique at the Steeplechase Cancer Center located at the Somerset Medical Center, New Jersey. The boutique will cater to individuals being treated for cancer, and will carry products such as wigs, swimwear, cosmetics, and skincare products.
According to online reports, cancer survivors were consulted while the boutique was being developed. Jane Haszko, a cancer survivor herself, was quoted as saying, “This is going to be so wonderful for cancer patients in our community, it offers one-stop shopping in a beautiful environment and will be very convenient for patients to get what they need in between their radiation therapy, chemotherapy and doctor appointments.” Sanofi-aventis, based in Paris, France, is the world’s fourth largest pharmaceutical company.
