What is eyelid lift surgery?

Eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) can reduce droopy eyelids & remove puffy fat bags under the eyes.

It can be used to give a more youthful look, or to correct certain medical conditions.

The most commonly performed surgical procedures are the eyebrow lift and the upper and lower lid blepharoplasty. In a blepharoplasty, excess or redundant skin, muscle, fat or a combination of these can be removed via incisions which are hidden in natural skin lines.

Risks of eyelid surgery

- double vision (usually temporary)
- gritty sensation/stinging eye
- excessive watering
- asymmetrical size & shape of eyes
- scarring
- drooping of lower lid
- dry eyes
