No matter how you say you’re feeling, your eyes give you away. They are the most remarkable feature we possess. No other facial feature has the power to captivate and hold a persons attention. Dressed in these three great looks, your eyes can send a subtle (or not so subtle) message without saying a word.
All three looks rely on gray shadow and strategic color placement and blending to create dramatic effects.
Sassy This look is retro and dramatic with a bit more flare than a demure girl would dare. It depends on dark brows and clear skin, so it’s not for everyone. Using liner pencils or shadows, darken your brows as much as possible without looking like you drew them on with a marker. Use brow powder to blend as you go. Sweep a moderate amount of dark gray shadow along the top lashes as you would a liner. Using your fingertip, lightly blend the shadow upwards toward the crease. Add soft black mascara only to your top lashes. Don’t add any cheek color. Finish with a classic red or burgundy lipstick. Add gloss sparingly, but do add it. The unique placement of color on the eyes pulls the look away from the mouth, so the bright lip color provides balance.
This look is all about the color. Choose your shade of green or blue and go dark. A little shimmer is okay, but don’t over do it. Matte is back. Cover your entire lid. Use a dark gray shadow or cream liner and line and define by smudging the color into the top lashes and along the crease. Use your finger or a sponge tip applicator for the best effect. Want to be truly sexy? Use a black cream or matter shadow instead of gray. Finish with two full coats of black mascara. Compliment your eyes with warm shades of honey contoured under your cheek bone. Keep your lips lined and glossed with nude tones.
Serious This classic yet modern look is stunningly different. It’s captivating, yet as appropriate for the boardroom as it is for a secret rendezvous. Begin with a slightly shimmering golden copper shadow applied to the entire lid. Line only the top lashes with a thin, clear line of jet black liner. Smudge a dark gray shadow over the liner to create deep dimension around your eyes. Forgo the mascara or use a clear gel lash volumizer. Complete your look with a dusting of soft baby pink blush and lips lined in pink (think soft pink, not electric or candy pink) with a blush lipstick. Note: Blush shades are slightly pinker than the brown-beige undertones of nude colors.
