ImageLet`s face it! From time to time, we all love to reinvent ourselves. In the past, the beauty world provided us with ways to change our hair, skin tone color and body. Now, with the advent of color contact lenses, we can even change our eye color. There are two types of color contact lenses. If you are looking for a conservative, less dramatic change in your appearance, consider a color-enhancing contact lens. These lenses have a subtle light tint that will either cover the entire lens or just the outer edge of the iris. Like the name implies, color-enhancing lenses enhance your own natural eye color. However, they are only effective if you use a lens that is the same color as your own.

If you are looking for a more dramatic change in your appearance, consider purchasing a pair of opaque contact lenses. These lenses will completely change your eye color. However, the color will vary from person to person, so you personal look will be completely unique! While changing eye color can be fun, it behooves you to choose the right makeup to enhance your new color. Here are a few ideas.

Your first task is to choose the best color contact lens to compliment your skin tone. For example, if you have fair skin, choose a light green, blue-green, blue or turquoise lens. If you choose green lenses, wear a light green eye shadow. If your lenses are blue, you can use blue eye shadow, but choose a shade that is lighter than your eye color.

Eyeliner should be brown, as opposed to black. Black has a tendency to look harsh on fair skin. If you are using blue contact lenses, consider trying blue mascara. It will add a whole new meaning to the words "deep blue eyes!"

Women with medium-toned skin color should consider blue or violet contact lenses. Taupe, brown or plum-colored eye shadow will do justice to these lenses. If you would prefer to go with turquoise or amethyst-colored contact lenses, dark lavender or plum-colored eye shadow, with a dash of sliver across your eyelids will make your eyes look absolutely intriguing!

For a highly dramatic effect, women with darker skin should consider amethyst, sapphire, deep blue or green lenses. Maximize the effect of your new, intense green eyes by adding some bronze shadow in the crease. Mauve or brown shadow will accentuate the beauty of your blue or amethyst contact lenses. Turquoise lens wearers should consider amber-colored eye shadows.

Pink and red lipstick colors are your best bet for drawing attention to your spectacular new eye color. Be sure to apply your makeup, especially your mascara, after your lenses are in place. Use a high quality water-based mascara. If your eyes tend to be sensitive, consider some of the special types of makeup that are designed specifically for contact lens wearers.
