Quick Tips to Fix a Bad DoNo one knows how or why it happens. You get up one morning to begin forming the style that you have been successfully wearing for the past six months, and all of a sudden your hair gets an idea of its own. Unfortunately, that “idea” is not attractive in the least, but your tresses are not about to comply with your wishes. What’s a girl to do? Fortunately, there are some tried and true tricks that you can use to say goodbye to bad hair days for good.

Hair Resuscitation 101

One of the quickest ways to a bad hair day is with a head of locks that lack life. If your hair just doesn’t seem to have any “get up and go”, try these techniques:

·    Sprinkle a bit of talcum powder into your roots and comb through. This works well if you have to miss a shampoo and your hair is looking oily.

·    It’s possible that your hair products are leaving a residue that is making your tresses look greasy and limp. Try a clarifying shampoo for an ultra-clean.

·    You may still have some conditioner lurking about in your roots. Give your strands one more good rinse before styling.

Static and Frizzies and Flyaways, Oh, My!

The first step in battling any of these hair evils is to stop brushing immediately, since the more you brush, the more chaos you will cause on your head. Instead, grab a pomade, anti-frizz product or fabric softener sheet and carefully go over your hair with one of these fix-its. If frizzies are your problem, you may need to wet hair down again before applying an anti-frizz lotion, and then stay away from heat and brushes for as long as possible. Finger combing is always a good solution as long as you don’t overdo. If static electricity is the issue, keep that dryer sheet handy throughout the day – you may need to use it to smooth hair more than once. Keep a stash of these fixatives in your supply for just such an emergency.

When all Else Fails

Yeah, there will be days where it will be time to get out the headband, ponytail holder or even baseball cap. Lucky for you, headbands are back with a vengeance, and you can find one to match anything in your closet with utmost style.   Clips can hold loose chignons at the back of your head. Keep about two inches of hair at the top of your twist to cascade down over the top. A bun is another fun alternative that can be dressed up or down, depending on how you accessorize it. If you can’t beat your hair that day, simply hide it – with style, of course.
