For women, the bad thing about having allergies is that the side effects often target your face, making for an unflattering appearance, especially if you have plans for going out. While makeup can hide the signs of suffering from allergies, if you don’t know what you’re doing it will make matters worse. One of the most annoying side effects of allergies is developing red splotches on the face. This can be hard to hide and when out in public, can make anyone feel insecure. Luckily, there are ways to remedy this problem. The first important thing to do is moisturize. Using moisturizer will help to soothe and calm red, irritated skin. When that isn’t enough, turn to concealer to neutralize the redness. A yellow based concealer is enough to do the trick. Once you’ve applied your concealer you’ll be able to apply your foundation and the rest of your makeup palette without any worries. It goes without saying that if your complexion is already red from your allergies, you’ll want to skip the blush.
Suffering from a red, itchy complexion because of your allergies? You can use cortisone cream on your face in place of your moisturizer. The ingredients in cortisone cream not only eliminate the itchiness and redness, it will also act as a moisturizer so your complexion will still be hydrated and soft. In general it is important to keep your complexion moisturized during allergy season. Skin that is suffering from allergies tend to not only get red and irritated, it can also get dry and cracked.
The eyes are the next most common area to showcase the negative side effects of allergies. Trying to disguise the signs of allergies in this area may seem difficult to treat but it’s just a matter of knowing what items to use. The best way to alleviate allergies in the eye area is through the use of cortisone or hemorrhoid creams, cooling eye masks, and cooling eye gels. All of these products will help reduce puffiness and help banish dark under eye circles. When using creams around the eyes, make sure to only use a small amount and be careful to not get any in your eyes. Even the color of makeup you wear can make all the difference in drawing attention away from your allergy areas. By using earth tones and avoiding red and pink shades, you can create a makeup look that is unaffected by your allergies.
